Get involved with one of the biggest shows on campus!

On April 28^th ISA will be hosting its 27th annual India Night and we want you to be a part of it! Planning has begun and tryouts are only a few weeks away!

APPLICATION AND INTERVIEW INFORMATION

February 8^th 7pm-10:30pm Union Room 209

· Show Coordinator: Interested in being involved in show production? Do you want to meet a lot of people and help run India Night? Show coordinators help choose which acts make it into the show, critique each act at every rehearsal and help behind the scenes. Show coordinators work with emcees on scripting and filming, run backstage during the actual show, and are integral to the show running smoothly.
SHOW COORDINATOR APPLICATION

· Emcee: Emcees help make the show run smoothly with performed skits interspersed throughout the show. This year, we’re not only looking for emcees with comedy in mind, but also emcees that can act. Don’t be intimidated! We’ll help you along the way, experience is nice, but not necessary, we’re just looking for fun-loving, outgoing people.
EMCEE APPLICATION

February 16^th 7pm-11:30pm Illini Ballroom C

· Act: From filmi dancing to classical bharatanatyam, musical groups to spoken word, if you have a talent, we want to see it! Please have 1 minute of your act prepared. SIGN UP HERE
· Anthems: We are looking for individuals or groups who want to sing either the Indian or American national anthem for the show. Be ready to sing the anthem that you would like to perform. SIGN UP HERE

Judges: Want to help decide which acts will be in India Night 2012? This is a great opportunity to meet people and determine what acts make it into your India Night! APPLY HERE by Sunday February 12 5PM!!

Ever want a warm drink when you’re walking on campus to warm you up?

We have just what you’re looking for: come to the BIF on Tuesday and the Quad on Wednesday and Thursday to enjoy some delicious fall themed drinks: Hot Chocolate and Apple Cider.

All proceeds are being donated to Wesley Foundation, a charitable campus organization, to help them feed needy families for Thanksgiving!

Diwali Night 2011 is IN 2 WEEKS on November 5th!!

Please join us for a night beginning with food catered by Mirsung and tasty mango lassi followed by 10 incredible performances all competing for the title of ISA’s Superstar. This year’s acts have worked hard to create our show and it’s going to be a night you’ll never forget!
Ticket Information:
Tickets will be on sale all of next week beginning MONDAY OCTOBER 31st on the quad
The special ISA member price of $8 will only be available Monday October 31st and Tuesday November 1st
$10 for non-members all week!

For all the classical dance fans out there, grab a pair of dandiyas (provided), or circle around that rangoli with friends, family, and everyone you’ll get to meet throughout the night! For our modern fans, get ready to get your Bhangra on, BRUAAHHHHH!!!! Whatever your style is, or just want to dance the worries of midterms away, come to GRB!

Diwali Night Act Auditions and Gandhi Week

Make sure you’ve checked your time slot for when you signed up and be at the Union for your auditions!

The auditions will be held at the Union 314B.

Good luck!

Also, tomorrow (the 28th) is the third day of Gandhi Week.

GANDHI WILL BE ON THE QUAD!
Come shake hands, get a picture, or ask some insightful questions between 12-3 PM!

Pictures will sell for $1 each, all profits go to the Gandhi Ashram in India.

Gandhi Week 2011!

Come out to ISA’s Gandhi Week next week to commemorate one of history’s most influential and important people! We have an entire week of events planned to do so, none of which you want to miss. Here are the schedule of events throughout the week!

Today’s Event:

Monday 12-3pm: Gandhi Hand Print Mural on the Quad. Come out to the quad to bring back our annual tradition of making a mural out of YOUR HAND PRINTS to commemorate Gandhi. After the mural is complete, we will hang it up for all of campus to see. You don’t want to miss this chance to leave your mark!
